Your Post-Storm Glass Balustrade Safety Checklist

1. Check the glass panels
Look for chips, cracks or stress marks, particularly around the edges and at fixing points. Even a small chip can compromise the structural integrity of a toughened glass panel. If in doubt, replace it.

2. Check the posts
Give each post a firm push. There should be zero movement. If a post rocks or feels loose at the base, the base plate fixing may need tightening or replacing.

3. Check the glass clamps
Clamps can work loose over time — storm conditions accelerate this. Make sure every clamp is tight and sitting flush against the glass. A loose clamp is a safety risk.

4. Check the handrail
Run your hand along the full length of the handrail and check every stem and connector. Look for any movement where the handrail joins the posts.

5. Check for corrosion or damage
Saltwater air and storm debris can scratch or mark stainless steel. A quick clean and inspection now will keep your balustrade looking and performing its best for years to come.
